Lovely Antique Georgian Mahogany Tallboy Corner Cupboard with x2 keys.

This freestanding mahogany corner cabinet, likely dating from the Georgian period is of two-piece solid Mahogany construction with two lockable cases.

The upper case features two fielded double-panel doors which open to reveal two fixed shelves and a green painted interior;  the lower case with two fielded single-panel doors which open to reveal a single fixed shelf, the whole raised on a molded plinth base. 

This wonderful piece retains its rich colour and a fab patina.  

Corner cupboards, also known as corner cabinets, became popular in the 18th century as a way to maximize space in dining rooms and parlors. They were often made of fine woods like mahogany, walnut, or oak, and featured decorative elements that reflected the prevailing architectural and furniture styles of the period. These pieces were functional for storing china, glassware, and other household items, while also serving as decorative focal points.
